Couples | Family Therapy
We will work with you to help you identify and understand how early relationships in life influence current ones. We believe in the importance of understanding one another’s past in order to develop empathy, foster healthy communication and increase acceptance. Having a safe emotional space to work through relationship issues fosters honesty and can be a key component to helping your relationship thrive. If you are already in individual therapy, relationship/family counseling may help to address issues specific to your current relationship(s).
Mindfulness for ADHDers
Mindfulness helps to raise self-awareness and train our attention, it can also regulate emotions, and lower anxiety and impulsivity. Recent studies have shown that people with higher levels of awareness have higher levels of well-being and positive emotions.
This support group is for anyone who would like to learn more about the many benefits of mindfulness meditation. Additionally, we’ll provide support for establishing this life-changing habit and teach you how to meditate as an ADHD/ADDer.
Individual Therapy
You’ll meet regularly one-on-one with a reliable and relatable therapist to explore your feelings, early life experiences, and any personal difficulties you are currently facing. Individual therapy is a unique process that can support you in the areas of your life where you feel stuck and increase your understanding of the way you engage with the world and with yourself.
Mini DBT Skills Group
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a powerful therapeutic approach which has helped many individuals regain control of their lives and build healthier coping mechanisms. By promoting acceptance, mindfulness, and practical skills, DBT equips individuals to navigate life’s challenges with increased emotional resilience and improved interpersonal relationships. If you or someone you know is struggling with emotional dysregulation or any of the aforementioned conditions, DBT may be a valuable and transformative treatment option worth considering.
Student Therapist- Free Sessions Available
We believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone. Private health insurance can help offset the cost of a therapy session, but not everyone has a workplace that offers benefits. That’s why we have developed the Inclusive Community Counselling Initiative (ICCI), where Master’s Degree Students in Counseling Psychology, Psychotherapy and equivalent offer low cost and affordable therapy sessions as part of their training requirements to become fully licensed psychotherapists.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
There are may types of therapies. In fact, there are over 400 modalities out there! However, one ingredient that we all need in our lives is acceptance. Acceptance allows us the space to explore and really feel what we sometimes ignore in our daily lives.
At it's core, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is also a mindfulness based therapy, just like Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). However, one of the assumptions inherent in this approach is that our psychological states or human condition can be destructive at times and instead of trying to control this, we learn to accept this. This comes from recognition that when we continuously try to change something in our lives, it can, in some cases, lead to [further]immense psychological suffering. For example, when we ruminate on an issue or become obsessed about why someone said or did something we consider upsetting, we may go into spaces in our minds that feel messy or extremely unpleasant. In other words, we get stuck on a thought and that thought makes us emotionally and psychologically stuck.
The goal of ACT is not to get rid of symptoms. It is to find a way to reduce the effects of symptoms through gaining psychological flexibility.
"In stark contrast to most Western psychotherapy, ACT does not have symptom reduction as a goal. This is based on the view that the ongoing attempt to get rid of ‘symptoms’ actually creates a clinical disorder in the first place."
Therapy with a therapist who practices from this lens focuses on helps clients through providing compassion, acceptance, respect, empathy and a safe therapeutic space.
