Help for Veterans

Post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD is a concern that is found markedly to be higher in numbers in veteran populations compared to other populations. For example, 7 out of every 100 veterans may qualify for a PTSD diagnosis (source: USDVA) while nearly more than twice (13%) will qualify for PTSD if they are a female veteran.

In addition, we have all experienced collective trauma with the pandemic. This simply means that the numbers above are more likely to be higher not just in general populations but also in the veteran populations.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a really high level of stress due to PTSD, see if some of the points below speak to you:

  • Flashbacks

  • Feeling “on guard” at all times

  • Wanting to connect with others but being unable to due to fear of getting angry or saying something mean

  • Feeling numb or dissociated at times

  • Nightmares

  • Intrusive thoughts

  • Upsetting physical sensations

At The The Therapy Nest, we are trauma-informed and work from a lens of practicality with safety being our first priority. We will meet you where you are at and hope to support you in a way that feels good to you. This means phone sessions and online face-to-face sessions are all options for you. Also, we offer a free 25 minute intake to ensure that you feel comfortable with your chosen therapist.
